here are some pictures of the bed I mentioned..again it is ivory, has the thick powder coat finish, some chips but they add character, that has never bothered me, the original rails and new sturdy slats..it is very heavy and turn of the century

I just heard that Conde Nast has announced that are ceasing publication of DOMINO. I am saddened and a little shocked.. I thought for sure Domino would survive but I guess not. Do yall think this is because of the economy or the internet?? Read about it here.

and Target is laying off at least 1500 employees.. times are tough.

NOT THE BABY! Hopefully I can get some good pictures soon but I wanted to let yall know i have two things for sale:
(1) an iron bed (full size, antique, ivory paint, curvy but not too Victorian, very heavy, the real deal) AND
(2)red/gold/rust check panels (2) (silk lined) ..the panels are 84″ no pocket (I used clips you could sew on rings) and also a long matching “runner” (I mistreated as a valance).. notice the drapes hanging behind the red chair..gives you an ideas of the pattern..a big buffalo check!

I guess we have the same taste in things other than decorating..because yall mentioned several of the names we are considering..like the top ones: Caroline (my all time fave girl name), Grace, Henry (so glad yall love it because most people i mention it to do NOT get it..they think it is some weird old name Drew came up with) and someone even mentioned RHYS and spelled it the way my husband wants to spell it (OK I am not nuts about the welsh spelling but i like the name)..thanks for making emotional tired pregnant woman feel better about names;;

we all love etsy..i found these unique baby mobiles today! I have seen the wire mobile somewhere (IKEA??? or PBKids) you could make your own with scrap paper or felt..the possibilities are endless..of course it will get torn up!

It’s official..after much speculation among the design blogs, Domino has finally broken the news! I can’t wait to see the choices made and direction taken..now this is change even I can get excited about;;;

I am hearing today that Country Home is closing its door..this is really sad..first, Cottage Living, now this and i hear O Home and Mary Englebreit will cease publication soon as well..
This Young House posted this wonderful image from Country Home..love it..such a fresh example of how they did modern country with a young, fresh twist..we wil miss you CH!

fyi..did you know you can buy this chalkboard paint from krylon in black OR the vintage green like shown here..i was talking with some girls on NYE about painting the fridge so very fun to run across this image.
