I just heard that Conde Nast has announced that are ceasing publication of DOMINO. I am saddened and a little shocked.. I thought for sure Domino would survive but I guess not. Do yall think this is because of the economy or the internet?? Read about it here.
and Target is laying off at least 1500 employees.. times are tough.

Gee whiz, another of the best magazines succumbs!! I could understand if there mags were the so-so ones, but not the likes of Cottage Living, ME, and Domino! Wow! I don’t know what it might be.

I just subscribed to it!!! I better be getting a refund. I haven’t even gotten my first issue.
I think it is the advertising dollars not being there to support all the magazines. And some mags are owned by larger companies that pull the plug on their non money makers.
I guess now we know that the magazine industry isn’t driven by subscription dollars but by advertising dollars.

Holly – I just came across your blog today! LOVE IT! Your style inspires me. I hope that I can be as inspirational someday (I’m only 23 and just graduated college, still working on developing my non-classroom design style!:) )
Girly Stuff : I DID TOO!!! I, like you, have yet to receive my first mag which I subscribed to well over a month ago. I am so glad Holly posted this, I will be looking for a refund, or will be making a phone call soon!

Indeed. Our local news channel let go 20 people. I have so many friend who have been alid off..times are tough. I pray.

It is so sad to see another great magazine not make it. Girly Stuff is right…I read an article that said in some caes subscribtions were actually up but they weren’t able to sell the advertising. By the way, your baby names are great…I am partial to Caroline as I have one of my own!

I hate to see this magazine go too.
But I’ve always known magazines are about the ad revenue and it’s definitely not there in this pitiful economy. 
Times are scary. I am thankful for my faith!
