I just love Fran Keenan..like our girl Heather Chadduck, she was an editor at Cottage Living..i am sure she is doing wonderful things on her own now..I just adore her little cottage in Birmingham and how she mixes traditional and modern and USES SMALL SPACE..very inspiring since I am feeling cramped in my own little cottage right now.. Love this picture, note the storage and her use of pattern in the entry, on the chair, the bench grouped with chairs, etc.. (and her cute baby bump)..if anyone has the image of her little girl’s room that appeared in the same issue (the one with the large houndstooth chair and handpainted letters on the wall, please email;;

    First of all I have to tell you – I saw you and your house in BHG long ago and put the whole article in my Inspiration binder. LOVE YOUR LITTLE COTTAGE.

    Then? I found your blog. LOVE IT! STALK IT!

    Now? You have one of my other inspiration homes on your blog! I just love Fran Keenan’s house and I was a faithful Cottage Living subscriber from the very beginning.

    I hope you never move, because there’s nothing more inspirational to me (as a person who lives in a sweet little cottage) than to see actual professional designers and how they decorate their sweet little cottages!

    Thanks for your blog – I love it. And now I’m out of the “Stalking Closet” and officially commenting.

    Smiles!

    I LOVE this article. It’s in my favorites binder. I’m moving my little girl out of her nursery soon and want to decorate her room in similar colors and fabrics.
    Just a tip for anyone else looking for similar fabrics….The curtain fabric is a quilt sold at Bed Bath and Beyond. It’s still at some stores, I found it on the clearance rack of my local BBB :)
