I love these Dash and Albert rugs, I bought a small one while in Fredericksburg this weekend….i think one of the patterns MIGHT be great in the nursery BUT they are light and slippery (but soft, durable and easy to clean) the more substantial solid choc brown (pictured) is more practical probably but i love the stripes..thoughts???
The stripe comes in a foot smaller in width and two feet smaller length and then the size option jumps to a foot larger on all sides ((but really jumps in price) i dont want it to look skimpy but thinking i could live with one/two feet smaller than the brown footprint..what do you think?? and a rug pad might fix the slippage..sure dont want slippage while carrying a newborn, no matter how cute..such tough decisions!
Hopefully i will get the bumper back this week from the sewer and more accessories up soon and i can make a decision, trying not to be hasty or hormonal but it is definetely not there yet for me..luckily we have EIGHT more weeks!

Love what you have done so far! I don’t think the smaller rug would be too skimpy… have you thought about layering the smaller one on top of the brown rug?

Looks great, Holly….my thought was similar, what about layering. You def. don’t want something slippery though! And it’s all looking terrific!

Oh Holly, you did a marvelous job! What baby won’t be serene inthat room? (if it was only that easy, right?)
I’m no designer in even my wildest dreams, but what if you put one of the striped rugs ON top of the brown rug? I think I’ve seen that in a magazine somewhere. It will be like a brown frame with a striped picture.
Too bad we have only a two bedroom place and one is already painted pink, otherwise I’d pretty much copy your boy’s room. So not ashamed to admit that!

i actually did think of getting the 2 x 3 throw rug to layer over it in front of the changer or crib for a splash of color but had not considered doing the 4×6??? something to think about..thanks yall!

WOW! I love what you’ve done.
I like the suggestions of layering the rugs.
I, too, have 8 more weeks. All I have purchased is a used crib (which needs to be painted). And the room still hasn’t even been emptied! I’m not really going to get into the fun stuff until after the baby arrives, though – we’re not finding out the sex and I want to decorate appropriately.

Oh, Holly, cute!!! Amazing how it is COMPLETELY different from Drew’s old room. You are so gifted. I wish you lived right next door so you could help me.

Beautiful. I would be thrilled to have a room just like this in my house. We have a mobile like this but in different colors…did you paint them? Very cute.

I think the whole room looks amazing! I really like the brown rug because it seems to ground the space and lets all of your other fabric accents really shine. Plus it seems that it would be better for a crawling baby and toddler. I think it looks awesome as is! You did a great job.

Love your nursery! Came over from Endless Possibilities and can’t wait to see pics of the painting on the wall! Love your style!

Your nursery is adorable!! I love the painting Kim did. (Thanks to Kim I found your blog.) I think it is my favorite of all her work.
Both rugs are cute. You definitely don’t want one that will slip too easily especially in those late night/early morning feedings when your half asleep. The brown one looks so soft and comfy – perfect to sit on with a baby when they become more mobile. Hard choice because they’re both so cute. Good luck.

Baby Henry’s nursery looks fantastic. I would totally go for the stripes (I like the one of the left best) and use a large slip proof under it. I think that would really be a fantastic finishing touch. You’ve done a fabulous job.
