Baby girl Spencer is getting a beautiful room in Virginia! Remember I showed you a preview here.. well mama (and daddy) have been working hard and here some pics of their progress.. Mama wanted me to be sure you know it is NOT finished and this is in progress but still..isnt it coming together nicely?? it is going to be just darling. (she has great bones in this room..great carpet and that window!)

the central park toile fabric panels were sewn by the mama (dont you just love the pompom fringe down the side??!), chair is from IKEA, the ottoman is from Old Lucketts Store and will be slipcovered…the crib bedding is going to be all white…monogrammed canvas piece coming from here and the plates, yall the plates..i love that one that is..MONOGRAMMED!;; these are going to look so nice hung together on the latte walls.

and finally, the controversial element that adds tension to even the simplest room;;;;

…the CEILING FAN…i really like it..we debated this and some of yall were not in favor but it looks great and will be functional..so please keep your comments nice about the fan..remember you have TWO hormonal mamas involved here…just wanted to share and will have the finished product ready to show soon hopefully!

This is amazing work! Love it! You show a lot of plates on the walls (Oh, I'm in love with that monogram one) and here's my question: What is the best way to hang the plates? I know a few people who have plate hangers, but their plates have been a bit touchy.

The plates in our room actually have holes in the back which was one of the many reasons I snatched them up!! Plate hangers are a bit touchy. I will be eager to hear Holly's advice!!

Holly, I love it, and I'd also like to know what you recommend for hanging plates. Would you just spray paint those icky brass plate holders (like you can find at the Dollar Tree)?

Love the nursery! My daughter will be having her first mid Jan. And I plan on doing the nursery for her as a gift. Love this one, as we do not want anything cutzie. She is having a boy!!! Our first grandbaby.

Holly, I am sure you know about these for plate hangers, but look here girls for how to hang plates……http://www.dischangers.com/. I am pretty sure Hobby Lobby carries them, or you can order them; I've used them and they work great!

In fact, I am going to blog about them, because so many people have this question…

Ceiling fans are not the most attractive items, but they are so practical. I would never be without them!

    Lovely room!!!

What a beautiful nursery…love the monogrammed plate! For all those wondering about the best way to hang plates I have found disc's with a hanging ring at Hobby Lobby that have a glue that is activated with a little water then you press on and let dry for 24 hours. It is great because you can't see any wire etc… and they can be removed when needed. I have always loved hanging plates and have started using these exclusively! Hope this helps!
Looking forward to seeing more of this room.

That is going to be one gorgeous nursery! The fan…well, I am a Texas girl, and we MUST have a fan in every room. Good for you for finding a really cute one…they do exist!!!

I looove it! My children's nureries were so babyish!! haha! Everything is so nice now! I like ceiling fans and like air better than A/C. The one you found is lovely-both chandelier and fan! Was it hard to find?

I love the curtains and wall color. I'm not a huge fan of ceiling fans either, and living in the Midwest they aren't that important, but my kids' rooms have them because they sleep better with fans on. At least the one you found is charming with the little lights!

Holly…I LOVE your blog and LOVE your style. I am also a "hormonal mama" — due in 4 weeks with my third and wish that I would have found your blog prior to decorating my nursery after finding out we were having our first boy! I had a hard time with male decor after 2 girls!! I had to comment after reading the baby girl Spencer post and seeing that Central Park Toile was used in that beautiful room. Because of my girly girls, I started making custom hairbow holders to match room decor and have used Central Park Toile. I think they are such a cute functional and decorative accent to any little girls room!!! You can see them at http://www.princessmimidesigns.etsy.com.

Holly, it's beautiful. The curtains are great and the fringe down the sides too. So pretty. And the WINDOW – lots of beautiful natural light.

The ceiling fan is cute and most of all functional which I think is so important. You know I'm a fan of fans (har har) when they're needed. Can't wait to see the finished results.

I think it's a very nice looking ceiling fan! I'm not a fan of most ceiling fans, but I have one in my bedroom that I use CONSTANTLY, so I can't say anything! Hey – I wish I had THIS one in there. Haha! Also….I just read about a study that using a fan in a room decreases the risk for SIDS since it helps the air to circulate. WOW – I love that wall color.

WOW! So cute! I loved the CP toile! I used it for daughter also. It is one of my all time faves!

There is NOTHING like the sound of a ceiling fan!!! I love them…they remind me of old southern homes and iced tea with sterling silver iced tea spoons and little cut-glass coasters. So there!

Will you please let me know where you found this ceiling fan. I am in search of one for functional purposes as well.

I love this nursery–its exactly what I have in mind for my little girl (arriving in mid-March). I have been scouring Benjamin Moore for a color like this, but cant seem to find anything exactly like it (always wind up with something too pinky). Would you mind sharing the color with me?
