I'd skip the Rebel unless you want to learn how to shoot in manual. Still love Canon and have an older version of a 12x zoom Power shot, which has given me awesome photos. I also have a Sony DSC T90 for my purse that rocks.

He is a cutie, I have a Henry too, but he is 14 and not so cuddly:(

I love my rebel and until you are ready to make the leap you can still shoot in the green mode. Once you get some fluency with the more creative modes (and you don't have to be totally in manual) you wont believe how much better the quality of your photos are. I would highly recommend taking a online course for whatever camera you buy. It not only will explain all the buttons and dials but give you a beginners course on digital photography. It is very addictive once you start…

Hi, Holly! Just wanted to tell you I really LOVE these pictures! I wish they'd have painted that bottom picture's window frame black, to match the picture frames. Something about that HUGE picture of a living outdoor space would be AMAZING…

And, I own a Rebel as well, and if you have the opportunity, I would highly recommend purchasing one. I finally (after two years) took the leap, and I haven't looked back. It's so wonderful. It does NOT, however, kill the need to have some sort of point-and-shoot camera I can just throw into my purse (small) for "emergency shots…" LOL!! Good luck!!

    He is precious!!

I have a Nikon D40 and I love it! I haven't regretted it for a minute. You can shoot in auto or manual when you are ready. You will be amazed at how much better your pictures are than with a point and shoot.

I love these pictures! I have a canon Rebel, and while I love the picture quality, it isn't a full frame camera. So when you start adding lenses, they "crop the photo" I wish I'd saved until I could afford the 5D, and just skipped the rebel altogether. I hear it is faster, easier to focus, and much more versatile.
