Great Post Holly!
You know who loves Ikea???The French!!!!I swear you go apartment hunting online and half of those chic Parisian apartments have tons of Ikea. I picked up two folding display tables there for the shop. Then I saw them pictured in a French magazine compared to some similar things by Frank Gehery!

The big bowl of photos is a great idea and one worth sharing no matter who's idea it was-thanks for sharing. My mother does this at Christmas with all her past years of Christmas trees and decor...
I used to do the same thing until I had a cat once that used to love to lick the photos and then they would all stick together...
www.cremfreshforthehome.blogspot.com

I like to be creative when it comes to framing art and pictures.

The typical frame doesn't always do it for me. I like using vintage looking window screens and windows for frames. I also like to transform wood frames by painting with color and designs.

I love Joni...but I am afraid to tell you it was Mary Emmerling...the expert on bringing Country style living starting in the 70's who first showed a giant bowl (actually a blue and white transferware platter) as a way to showcase family photos on a coffee table!
I have been reading too many design books and magazines for too many years!0

Fun! I never saw that post on bowls filled with pictures! I love it.

When of my favorite things to do whenever I'm at someone's house for dinner, etc is too look at their photo albums. This makes it much easier to sneak a peek at their pictures!

What a timely post, Holly. I just hung five black wood Ikea frames above our guest bed last week. For only $4.99 each they seem to be a fairly nice quality. The mats are fine (like a basic Michael's mat) but make sure the inside cutout isn't bent. I realized one of mine was but I was able to disguise it by rotating it and putting it next to the part of the drawing that was white. ;-) My only other gripe is that the picture hook on the back was really far back from the edge of the frame. I had to use 2 1/2" nails instead of traditional picture hooks.

Thank you for doing this decorating with pictures series. I just loved it!
