I still have a wreath over my bed, and on my front door….and I miss my tree and my mantle decorations (which I REdecorated on the 23rd after purchasing some new garland at this store). Usually I am so anxious for it to go away but I think the colder weather is making me just want to snuggle under quilts and look at Christmas lights…

I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.

You are not alone. My back porch is still decorated for Christmas – tree and all…only because I didn’t finish decorating it until the 27th! I wish now that I had left up my outside decorations on the front of the house. We have a rare snowstorm headed our way tonight here in Ga and it would have made wonderful photos for next year’s Christmas cards….tempted to run up to attic and pull out wreaths! LOVE your very fitting quote at the end of the post.

Yes, great quote indeed from Mr. Dickens. I’m sorry to report that I have yet to take all my decorations down….and I don’t mean just a wreath or two here and there. I always wait until after the new year because of family coming at that time, and now I just started putting things away a day or two ago. Plan on getting the tree down and each room packed away again and up to the attic before the weekend sets in!! Cold weather headed our way in the deep south that should keep us all inside…which means lots of helpers to get the decorations put away!

hi holly! merry christmas and happy new year! i took a little blog break and it’s so nice to be back! i took down our decorations last weekend. it was a bittersweet moment because the holiday was so special this year. but i needed to clean up the house and feel refreshed! it felt empty at first but then i realized our home is now ready for all the memories and experiences 2010 will bring!

Last bins (all 27 of them) went upstairs today and I miss my village and my lights…..very dark around here at night. It is always such a big task that I make myself get it done. But I do still have one of my little pine trees on my mantle….so sweet!

I do agree, that what I miss most are the lights… If I had alot of money, I would pay people to string them all up in my trees (the right way, not the ghetto way we always do it)… and leave them up all year. Throw in a few chinese lanterns in the backyard in April… and you’ve got yourself a party!

I’m with you, Holly! But I’m sad *every* year when I put away Christmas till next December. The lights and the wreaths are the best part. These are beautiful photos of your wreath and mantel.
The world would be a better place if everyone honored the spirit of Christmas all year long! Happy New Year!!!

I just love your entire blog — I clicked over from a photo I saw on The Lettered Cottage. I’ll definitely be back again to look around some more!

You’re not the only one I usually am the same way about packing away everything quickly but this year I decided to replace my live swag on my door with a red winter berry wreath and actually waited until after NYE to take everything else down! That’s a record for me! I love the wreath hanging over your bed!

I must admit…..I still have my tree UP. Yes….gasp.
I must admit…..I was worried about your lack of posts because my nifty reader hasn’t told me you’ve posted in a while. So, I make my way over here….and find out that you’ve posted a TON! And i’ve missed it.
So, I promise I’m lot a loser friend. I am going back and reading all of the posts I missed and trying to figure out what the deal is with my reader….not cool!
Love you!!!

Hi, I just bounced on to this blog while looking for decorating ideas. I thought I was the only one not wanting to take down my Christmas decor — this is actually the first time I have ever felt that way. I love the panels you have on this post, did you make those? Is it your headboard? Please tell me more, they are so pretty.
