Jul5

Soon we will celebrate baby Henry’s FIRST birthday!  It will be really casual, family and friends in our backyard, not a total kid party.  We are having early in the day with brunch food because well its so darn hot! So we will have muffins, kolaches, and LOTS of cold watermelon.  And no huge birthday cake, just cupcakes.

Weeks ago,yes I am serious, I layed out what I had (an old banner of Drew’s, fabric scraps, etc..) to see what I had and what I needed….I began hoarding napkins from Target before they were snatched up in the Fourth of July frenzy….oh how I love those red polka dot napkins!

I must say, I was very happy when I discovered I was pregnant with Henry and due in July (aside from the scary thought of being largely pregnant in the Texas heat).  I hate the heat but I love the Fourth of July and the thought of a little Star Spangled baby boy made me very happy and still does… So lots of flags..I’ve even been tea staining them…yes, I am serious. And loving the “American summer” theme which involves a little circus/carnival, a little retro/vintage, silhouettes, and a little July 4th rolled in one…its the mish mash theme/non-theme. Of course I totally made that up!

And then the invitation of course. More on that to come.

Oh how cute! You should do party planning on the side! And you should give us a tutorial on tea staining flags – it makes them look so cool!

Oh my goodness, you and have i way more in common than I thought! ha ha! :) I’m still working on my reply back to you via email. I think it’s a combo of it being soooo long and it being a holiday so I haven’t had much “computer time”. :) LOVE the party stuff. Great job! email you soon! ~cat

LOVE it all! I always wished my Graham’s bday was earlier in the month so we could pull off an “All American” theme, but he is the 22nd. It’s going to be a darling party!

Goodness gracious! This is the cutest party ever. I’m sad that I live in California, because you know I’d be happy to celebrate with y’all in Texas! I can’t wait to see more pics. You always throw the greatest parties! What a blessed family you have.

    Holly,

Just saw the pictures of Henry’s birthday party. It was so adorable, just like Henry.

My girls and I love to go all out with our parties and I know how much work they can be but so worth it. I liked everything that you did. You are so creative and talented.
