Well here it is, a random look around the Office and our little design project.  There is not great lighting so I did the best I could with my photography skills. Without further delay   . . . random snippets from the Office.

{Remember I was aiming for a bit of  “Texas coastal” feel with the coral, turtle, maps and animal hides, grasses, burlap and metals}

I must tell you we had a budget and I honestly thought it would go further than it did..I had visions of this sofa and much much more. BUT when you are furnishing multiple rooms, well it’s like a trip to Target y’all..it adds up fast, REALLY FAST!  So forget the Old Hickory Tannery sofa and enter…GARDEN RIDGE! Yes, that’s right, I am such a classy decorator, I buy FURNITURE at Garden Ridge! After a couple of hours at some fancy furniture stores the partner’s wife and I decided on a new strategy, “inexpensive” furniture (AKA cheap) with a few strategic “nicer” accessories..I think we pulled it off.

I also want to add that we did all of this in just a few days and started from scratch! I’m not a full service decorator so the clients helped move furniture and put things together. . . there is no way I could do all of this by myself.  I need Anthony and a van and I just don’t have either!

My favorite room (the front foyer, think doctors reception area) has the worse lighting so the photos aren’t great..too bad because this room is so fun with the cow hide (IKEA) and mix of blue and white and color and hides. It’s very warm and cozy in person, masculine but really pretty too.  I think one of the pillows cost more than the chair or loveseat!  But like I said, strategic accessories.  The Andover cabinet from Pottery Barn was a perfect fit, they had it in stock and it just worked perfectly.  The lamp and burlap shade are also from PB.  Garden stool from Harwin I believe (it’s a houston thing!) and silver deer head from Pier One!

The top photo and the photo below are the same wide hallway, sort of a second reception area..honestly neither of these reception areas are actually used for “sitting” just to look nice thus the feeling that the not so fab “leather” would be okay. The huge chunky lamp is from Pier One.

This large iron console is also from Pier One . . . praise God for big box stores when you are in a hurry! Notice by looking at the ceilings and floors, this is just an average office (no offense guys) but we really spruced it up I think!

We reframed their Confederate documents for this space…rush job at Michael’s with only the mat colors they had in stock to choose from but it works.  Kilim pillow from here.  Artificial orchid from Restoration, side tables from Marshalls.

Remember the “big green leaf” artwork from Super Marshalls?! And these balls in a bowl were very average until I added the horns..much better now!

The photos are from an office trip/convention in Lake Louise. Footed frame from Pottery Barn.

{Just a peak at the big conference room below, notice the red,Ii mean MAROON wall that covered the “orange,” I love this mirror from PB (which looks more colorful in person, really beautiful and large for the price), their humidor and cigar boxes and the blue and white I snuck in on this pot and in other areas of the room . . . sorry not a better shot of this room}

In addition to two reception spaces, a kitchen and conference room, we did several offices!  This one has an IKEA Ektorp sofa in leather, and yes its actually leather because this sofa will be used and we wanted it to be soft and comfy! Notice his golf prints!

Of course, I wanted a tufted sofa. I have a thing with masculine offices and tufted furniture but it wasn’t in the budget so I used this little cube to give that feel without the huge expense..I think it worked…This side table from Super Marshalls was a steal too!

Same office, this lamp was a score from an online source…I wanted the huge one from Restoration, you know the one, but it is HUGE and expensive and you must order it..so annoying so we settled on this and i like it better..only $60 and it came with a nice linen shade. I like the idea of the surverying feel in their office because they are appraisers/land guys!

In another office we used a nailhead sofa from Pier One..nice and long and comfy and i love the detail and color.  Sorry if the goat hide offends you.. What can I say..it’s Texas, expect animal hides, confederate money, western art,  Texas A&M diplomas and golf stuff!

Ralph Lauren pillow and lamp from Super Marshalls and bronze letter from Restoration. Hide from the Arrangement  in Houston.

Back to the front foyer and something funny.  See how there is an accent wall.  Not a huge fan of the accent wall but it was there when they moved in. . . except it was sort of a rusty brown, I actually liked the color somewhat but for these Aggies it bordered on the offensive (AKA “orange”) so we repainted accent walls either Coriander seed from BM (pictured above) or Texas leather in some offices (and red, I mean “maroon” for the conference room like I mentioned above;;). This plant has been tweaked..love the urn.  We used big banana plants in some offices.  Love those. This iron console came from, yep you guessed it SUPER MARSHALLS.

I could go on and on about the Office but I will end with a word about the wood horse in the last photo.  I wanted this horse from Restoration but the “you have to order” issue…so we found the one pictured for $34!!  Now  I am seeing them everywhere, even Z Gallerie (not on their website but I have seen in stores).  Oh well, I don’t think the guys at the Office will mind!

    Gig ‘em! This is great. Anyone waiting in these areas would not feel like they are waiting since you have a lot of interesting things to admire. I bet you had a blast shopping for everything. Love, love the andover cabinet. It is my favorite! Laughed at the Anthony and van comment.

    It looks awesome, Holly! First of all, when you were explaining your idea of going Texas coastal, I busted out laughing when I got to animal hides….hahahaha! It just struck me so funny…animal hides…what an element! They totally make the space…love the one on the floor. I knew before I even clicked the “Anthony” link that I was going to be seeing Anthony Bouvier! HAHA! :o )

    Love it! You did an awesome job. One of my favorite things was the bowel with the antlers mixed in. Also the silver deer head….went looking for it at Pier One (no luck). Just love everything you did!

    WOW you did an awesome job! I know hauling all that stuff around was so much work. Just the driving to all of the places to buy it is SO time consuming. But…you pulled it off, and it looks great!

    I am so, so, SO impressed! I heard little bits and pieces along the way but had no idea you were pulling this much space together. Very well done, Holly!

    Looks great! I noticed the A&M diploma (Whoop!). Sorry, I couldn’t resist! I think it’s part of the brainwashing that takes place at A&M. I can’t help but love the old Texas maps since I’m a Texas history teacher. Thanks for giving such specific details on where things were purchased. Very helpful. Well done!

    You did a wonderful job with this office! I like all your choices and love the accessories. Accessories are so important, aren’t they? My husband’s office space is lacking. We haven’t done much with it lately. After seeing this, I think I am feeling inspired!

    p.s. I have the same garden seat! I’ve had it for years and I love it. Currently is is out on our patio, enjoying the late summer breeze and sunshine. :)
