It’s the “drive by cute house” paparazzi..my friend from Alabama is always sending me the cutest shots of homes in her area! I love the shingle siding that is so common there…swoon!
I love studying the color combinations and shutter styles….
and the darling little fences and wonderful plantings! and cedar shingles..did i mention shingles..shingle siding, shingle real shingles on the roof..i have loved these forever.

And i like this shutter color with the siding..i used to be a black shutter girl but i am backing off from that MAYBE …

I could spend hours driving by houses. I should do this in my little town; there are some adorable homes. I just didn’t want to look like I was stalking them if they saw me holding my phone out the window 🙂

Question…pictures 4 and possible 6 have the old style WOODEN glass storm door in front of their solid wood entry door. That is exactly what our old home needs…right now we have the typical storm door from Lowe’s on our house. Where can you find those old wooden storm doors? Anyone know??

I saw another today on my way to the bookstore. I would of had to risk my life to get a picture, but I’m going back when we return from our trip. I might even knock on the door and get the paint colors for you. IT IS PERFECT!!!! Dark grey with off white shutters & trim.

I love doing drive bys!! Here in Richmond,VA, we have LOTS of shingles as well! Shingle roofs are beautiful, last a really long time (but have to be replaced by a certified person, not just any roofer, and my last roof, had it had been in cedar, would have been $30k+, for a really basic roof covering about 1200 sq ft. Our 30yr arch shingles were about $5k) We also have slate roofs which are AH-MAY-ZING!!

OMG… I love them all {good job Tessa}! I’m designing a house in Cardiff, CA… & I’ve been going back & forth with the front door navy or sage/sea foam green. Hmmmm that second house with the Sea foam shutters is amazing! So hard to make a decision! I love them all!!!!!
