flags = happy

I was feeling blue (as opposed to red, white & blue) because I had not planned a Fourth of July party….  I LOVE the Fourth of July!  Growing up our little town had a parade and celebration in the city park and it was good smalltown fun…always the highlight of my summer.  And then my mom would always make homemade ice cream…

Good times! Some people get depressed at Christmas if it doesn’t meet their expectations.  I am that way about the “Fourth”….so yesterday I got out my flags, should have done it earlier.  Just a few flags around the house made me feel better!

Along with some of these images on Pinterest!

  1. Nothing like the stars and stripes on the 4th to chase the blues away. Hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday.

  2. So funny…I was thinking of you and your love of the 4th today…wondering if a post would come! As my girls and I hunted down some little flags and stars and stripes today, I wondered if you were gathering yours. I think you and I are in similar boats…doing some hard things on this holiday. Our God is with us.

  4. happy 4th! i too love this holiday! though it looks like ours is going to be rained out. which stinks b/c charlie’s bike was all ready decorated for the parade. i think it is one of my favorite holidays too, maybe b/c we still celebrate it in such a traditional and old fashioned way – parades, fireworks, flags! and i’m not even american! ha!! :)i’d love to add homemade ice cream to my list of traditions! maybe next year!

  5. I love your site! I’ve definitely been inspired. What color is your hutch? It’s gorgeous!

  6. Thanks for sharing Holly! Happy Fourth!

  7. Small towns in Texas are all about the same. We always had homemade ice cream on the 4th, too, but it was because it was also my cousin’s birthday. Thanks for sharing those great images. I’m sorry you are feeling sad, but I’m glad the flags made you feel happier.
