Summer is over

Well it will be hot for WEEKS, weeks yall here in south Texas BUT today is our last day of summer vacation.  Hard to believe.  Our summer has been a whirlwind.  I can’t believe my oldest will be a first grader.  SO excited for him and his new year.  His teacher seems great and lots of boys in his class.  My mom is getting better I think after a tough summer of complications from chemo.  I am already getting lots of emails from moms who are reading to work on their nests now that their littles are back in school. I love what i do and cant wait to help these famlies make their houses into homes they love.  I have a list of things i want to do around my own house…like this pergola over the garage door!

Remember if you live in the Houston area I can come visit you in your home but I can also work with you online if you live in another state or country.

Like my mid day obsession with green doors.

Oh yes you can see  I am still addicted to Pinterest.  Do you enjoy looking at your own pins..dont forget to go back and look at what you’ve already pinned..if you are like me you pin the same things over and over (its like buying the same shirt over and over..how many white tees do i really need?!) I love looking at my pins..its like visiting friends..strange i know.

{my kids would SO swing on this ladder but i do love it and the gray walls}

But who can blame me??  They are some great photos and inspiration..visit all of my pins and see sources on my boards.

  1. Holly,
    I wish Mother Nature would realize that school begins on Monday and summer is OVER here in Texas. Wow, first grade for Drew! How exciting!

  2. I totally agree! part of the fun is going back and looking through all my pins. pinterest is so addicting 🙂

  3. Here in Minnesota we tend to hang on to Summer for as long as we can — at least I do! This has been a very hot & humid Summer by our standards but, I still won’t declare Summer “down for the count” until mid-September. I do love the colors and scents of Fall– I just don’t like what is around the next seasonal corner!

    Enjoy the weekend!

  4. As a fellow Texas you sure aren’t kidding about the weeks and weeks of crazy heat we still have left to endure. YUCK! I am so anxious to see a little fall. That is when we really hit the home projects….way too hot in summer.

  5. I was just thinking to myself last night, “What is the point of all this pinning if I don’t ever go back and look?” Same with blogging. I like to go back and look at how my girls have grown, house details have changed, inspiration has been found, etc.

    Happy back to school! I miss mine, but when my card season kicks in, I’ll be glad for the extra time!

  6. I do enjoy looking through my pins. It’s like the longer I stare at them, the more I figure out how to incorporate the idea into the room! It sometimes takes a while for something to click.

  7. so sad summer is over! like you, i’ve been wanting to do a pergola over our garage! maybe by next summer! best of luck to your son…and mom of course!

  8. I love the pergola over the garage door … I’ve always wanted one. Please post pics if y’all do it. I would love you forever if you installed an old library ladder and then let Drew swing on it (excuse me, he’d be “a-swangin’ ” on it, in my mind — hahaha), and then post pictures of him doing it. Seriously, he is too cute for words…. I hope his school year is a wonderful one … for you and him both. By the way, I feel like such a loser … I’m still trying to figure out what exactly Pinterest is. I just need TEN spare minutes to myself …. but that’s asking a whole lot these days!! Lastly, but MOST importantly, I am praying for your momma, all of her family, and her doctors.

  9. How exciting first grade! Too funny, we have been thinking about making some changes around our homes. There must be a correlation between school starting and refreshing the nest. We can’t wait to see some of your projects. Now, someone tell mother nature that Summer is winding down.
