It feels so good to be home again after a weekend of travel and work…I met with several clients this weekend in Fort Worth, Texas, and it was so fun! I love that town!

After working, i met up with my good friend Camille and we hit this classic FW establishment for burgers

and then “the shops” as my oldest son likes to call ‘girl shopping’…which included speculating about the perfection of this bag at J Crew

Brompton hobo
and the satisfaction of walking away from it..

We drove around TCU and other areas pointing out charming houses..we always do that no matter what city! We like red doors, awnings, trailing ivy and other cuteness…i know you are shocked!

Mainly we enjoyed talking and talking and more talking…We talked about mid-winter funk, are we the only ones having it?? I think not! We talked a lot about balancing motherhood and work and living a life of faith in this world.

There are few things better than being able to truly be yourself with someone, warts and all and get good constructive feedback that both encourages and sharpens..i love you Camille and appreciate your faithful friendship!

But its good to be home with my little boys and their handsome daddy..breaks can be good for a mama, In fact, i truly enjoyed playing ball with my guys outside yesterday, honestly that’s not usually my thing, but the break helped refresh and refocus me on my main job and blessings!!

BTW, I may be heading to San Antonio for a weekend of decorating in the spring (april?)? So if you are interested in becoming a part of that “weekend o’ decorating,” let me know.  Also have considered trips later in the year to New Jersey, Connecticut and the Cincinnati area…I ’m not able to do this kind of travel alot but i do love going and working on spaces in person..so drop me a line if you are interested!

More updates on various projects coming soon!  Hope you have an amazing week!

I loved every single moment with you this weekend. I feel incredibly blessed to call you my friend and rest in the knowledge that you love me, warts and all. All that AND we have a blast together, no matter where we are or what we are doing. Thank you so much, dear friend. I love you!

What a wonderful weekend! It’s amazing what good times with a dear friend can do to refuel. That breath of fresh air is like wind beneath our wings. I can help us soar for a good bit.

What is it about a red door that makes our hearts dance?

Hi Holly, I’ve been admiring your blog and your work for several months now. I was hoping to email you for a consultation when I get a little money saved up to decorate an extra room we have. I live in San Antonio and think it would be fun to meet in person. I met another blog friend recently and we had such a good time, that I want to get together with people from my social networks more often. Please keep my email address and let me know how your plans develop.

PS – I’m not sure what your trip is going to look like, but if it works out, maybe we could check out this place together. Except for college, I’ve lived in San Antonio my whole life and I’ve never heard of yeyas, but it looks exciting. http://rockoakdeer.blogspot.com/2012/01/yeyas-antiques-and-oddities.html

Holly, you were in my neck of the woods. Don’t you just love Fort Worth… Hope you had a great time. I was busy working the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Doesn’t get much better than Fort Worth!!!

I would be very interested in becoming a client if you are coming through Cincy. Have been LOVING your blog for a long while now. And have pinned so much of your stuff! Let me know if/when you are thinking of OH. I am sure your dance card will be full but we would be happy to host you for lunch or something at Chez V. Keep your chin up, girl. The mid-winter blues are the worst but the promise of Spring is really just around the corner.

My home needs a serious pick me up. I would love to meet you when you are in San Antonio! I have been reading your blog for a long time and love your style and sensibilities. Plus, my 40th bday is in April!!! What a wonderful present it would be to have you help me out!

Sounds like a great refresher with a good friend! I even enjoy mini-refreshers and will be having one this weekend. If you’re ever in the Philadelphia area I’d certainly be a tour guide if you needed one!

I love that bag! I went shopping at Nordstrom while visiting Seattle and picked up a bag that was pretty similar that was on SALE for $1800!!! I almost choked when she said the price. Seriously, I think I’ve found what’s wrong with the world. I seriously had no idea that there was such a huge market for crazy-money purses!!

Hi! My name is Holly too and I live here in San Antonio. I’ve read your blog for a long time and love your style and asthetic. My 40th b-day is in June and what a great present to myself to be able to visit with you to help give my casa a facelift. We’re looking a little tired over here :) Hope to hear from you soon about coming to the Alamo City!

So while you were in Fort Worth, hope you stopped by best decorated place in town…The Black Rooster. Wonderful food, coffe and Atmosphere! You could even take home a yummy souvenir for those boys.

Holly I have that handbag, it was on sale, on sale, on sale which made the price easier to take, but it was still a splurge. I must say….I love it and carry it nearly every day.
