The “best in show party”  from here. Henry loves dogs.

But he also prays everyday “thank you Lord for hamburgers and fries” so i think we will just have a burger party!

  1. I JUST planned out a sliders party with burger bar the other day in my notebook. Couldn’t believe how many toppings there really are for burgers, BUT that dog party is just too darn cute to resist! How does he feel about hotdogs?? I clicked over and they even have printables for the cupcake toppers. That is toooooo cute!

  2. That looks totally low-key! In fact, I think my mom did the exact same thing for us, back in the 70s! 😉 I love the idea of the checked tablecloths, and I’m sure you could make it both manageable and awesome.

  3. Ha! Love it! I believe I have mentioned something about “no big production” over the years ; )
The slider idea is great – loving all the little containers.

What did we do before Pinterest? I guess we pulled out page after page from our mags. I still do some of that (I guess I am old) – but Pinterest is so much easier.

I can’t wait to see how your no big deal partee turns out! xo

  4. Weren’t we just pregnant with these sweet babies!! How can they be almost three! Happy almost bday Henry!

  5. Surely he knows by now that no party you throw will be simple! These pictures are making me hungry.

  6. very, VERY, cute ideas!! you know charlie’s first bday was a dog themed party and it was fun and easy {hot dogs for lunch} to put together, but I think the burger party would be A BLAST and relatively easy too. oh, who am i kidding?! they are always a lot of work and last minute prep and set up with wild and excited children running around. you gotta love it to be willing to do it, and i know, you {like me}, love it!! 🙂 xo

  7. love it! especially the corn on a stick.
    Happy Birthday Henry!

  8. Even if it’s simple, it will be beautiful if you’re doing it! I found some of the red plastic baskets at HEB but they didn’t have the cute paper, so thanks for the source!

  9. Love your ideas for the “no big production” party! Did your husband forget who he is talking to? 🙂

Last night my son & I were chatting & I asked him what “theme” he would like for his upcoming 9th b-day party next month. He looked at me asnd said “Mom, you know NOT every birthday needs a theme, right?!” HA! I guess he told me! Pizza & swimming is the name of the game.

  10. I love it! This sounds like what I say before every birthday or holiday I host. Then the wheels start spinning, and my every intention of keeping it “simple” gets a tad more involved. It’s so worth it though!
Happy Birthday to your Henry. Can’t wait to see what you do.

  11. DARLING!

  12. michael’s has cute red striped waxed tissue paper in the gift wrap section located among the basic tissue paper for gift bags. i think newspaper rolled into a cone shape would be cute for fries!

  13. So adorable!!! I know Henry’s party will wonderful. I can’t wait to see all your ideas.

  14. Holly, this is so Henry. Those hamburgers and fries will be right down his alley. Don’t forget the ice cream cones to go with it. If you need me to bring some Blue Bell, let me know.
