I just saw this on pinterest and flipped..love these drapes! even if they are on a rod pocket.

from Nicole Yee see here for more..love. And i would love to know the source on the fabric. BUT i must say i have used these drapes from Ballard twice lately and they have a very similar feel for a fraction of the cost i am sure..just sew on rings..i dont love the ballard rod pocket th ought it works in the inspiration photo. what about you..rod pockets or not??? My mom and granny used to be fans of the rod pocket with ruffled above..pretty tall..they ruined me on it i think (sorry mom).>I actually remember when i was kid hearing them talk about how they just loved “pockets” on drapes and i would sketch drapes with a pocket..like a pocket tSHIRT.. cute huH? not really. maybe for pb teen! Anyway, this is the ballard fabric..its more linen like and less white in person.
They come in Indigo, black and green..i waffle between liking the blue or black best..like them both…the green would look good with buffalo check if you could fine the right tone or use neutral check!
Yes I am supposed to be on vacation..we had a great couple of days here but its been raining (thank you Lord) and we are back home revving up for Henry’s number 3 birthday on FRIDAY THE 13th! No big party just cupcakes with friends that morning and burgers with the grandparents that night! I am getting him this trike..can’t wait for him to see it!

I was JUST coveting these as I caught a glimpse of them here:

Wouldn’t you say these are the same?! LOVE!
Hi friend!
NO rod pockets!!!!! Always sew rings in!!
xo- Jill
Holly,
I actually used the clip on rings for my Ballard drapes.
They are really pretty. It’s funny as soon as I saw them, I thought of the Ballard ones. I don’t hate the rod pocket, but prefer the rings sewn on. My mom was big on the ruffle above the pocket too, lol. Probably the reason I can’t stand anything ruffly (is that a word?). And pink. I was forced to have a flowery pink room with ruffle top rod pocket curtains. Pink is slowly making its way back into my closet ; )
Enjoy your son’s birthday. My kiddos both rode that trike and loved it.
Love the first pic so much…the Ballard ones are nice too. I never thought about rings vs no rings – I guess I will give that some thought the next time I find some curtains I like.
Cutest little trike for your birthday boy – hope he loves it!!!! xo Ashlyn
We LOVE Lost Pines. It’s the perfect place to go with kids and feel like you have gotten away. I hope y’all had fun!
I just bought these window treatments from Ballards and I love them, they are a bit darker then what the photo shows but they lay perfectly and look way more expensive then they are!
I’ve always loved these drapes, too. I found the original article on this house and it says they are the Ballard drapes.

Happy happy to your little one. Watch the ankles–mine has her’s and she whips around the house now with it! Sideways at times she is going to fast
I am celebrating mine on Friday too although I will be antique junking at a couple of local haunts! Yah! No working for me on the 13th. Its suppose to rain for the next 2 days but gladly after all this 100degree weather here in the South.
The drapes are pretty, but I want to comment on the tricycle. I adore those little red bikes! I have kept the ones that my kids had (and they are all 18 and older.) They make great decorating accessories in a playroom (on top of a big cabinet), and I think it will be something they will want when they have their own children. Just an idea….I also have their little red scooter, and a Schwinn banana seat bicycle – you probably don’t remember those. Happy birthday to your little one.
I clicked on your link to that website and from their got to an online magazine of new england design. In their resource section, they list those curtains coming from Ballard Designs! Maybe they’ve changed the pattern slightly… Hope that helps!
Hahah! You are too funny about the ruffled top rod pockets!!
I’m smitten with the green. Wouldn’t it be lovely in a room with ferns and other botanical accents and found nature goodness like this: http://pinterest.com/pin/284500901430522628/??
Love that red trike. I remember how special mine was to me. (Can you believe I remember?!) Great memories will be made. Happy Big Three to Henry!
I loved these drapes the moment I saw them. I am really drawn to the green. Now I have to paint and furnish a room so that I could buy them.
Happy Birthday to your big boy! The tricycle is perfect.
Love the fabric. Not loving the rod pockets. Looks a little 1980s for my taste. I’m in Houston, too, and it’s coming a flood. Again. Last year we couldn’t get a drop. Now it won’t stop raining. Glad y’all had fun at Lost Pines. My family went there a couple years ago and we had a blast.
Stay dry, Holly!
Hi Holly,
I agree…don’t like rod pockets. I have my drapes on clip rings, but I’m not liking that either. Can you (or someone) please explain what you me by “sew on rings”? I think I might want to do this but I’m not sure what it is! Many thanks!
Love your blog, I check in daily. Happy birthday to your darling son…that trike is adorable!

I absolutely LOVE the ones in the room photo, as well as the Ballard ones. Unfortunately I have nowhere to use them.
As long as you don’t have to close them, I love rod pockets for a casual look, no ruffles, though.
I’m ok with rod pockets but the folds MUST be even. I used to use the stick on Velcro strips ( just cut them and stick them right on the rod/ inside pocket) so the folds in the curtains would be spaced just right and stay that way
No clips no clips no clips… that’s what I tell my clients!
If you use rings… sew them on!
But the Rod pocket doesn’t bother me!
I am in love with those drapes. Like all the colors. Definitely sew rings on. I actually get my seamstress to pinch pleat pottery barn/Ballard panels for fraction on cost of custom. Love ballard panels! Those striped wing chairs & these drapes make me glad I haven’t executed on my formal living space bc all these photos have my head spinning. I think the black print would be fun in a playroom or office, too. Happy 3rd bday!
I like the drapes, but i do not like the rod pockets. Maybe my seamstress could pinch pleat them like Jennifer said. Happy 3rd Birthday to Henry. I can’t wait to see the party pics!! xo, Rachel
I’m actually a big fan of rod pockets for casual rooms – but NO RUFFLES ABOVE THE ROD!!! Ruffles like that make me think of that big 80s/90s powder blue and mauve country style that was everywhere. Sometimes I feel like rings just make things a bit too busy up there, though, so I like the rod pockets in this kind of room.
I have the indigo Ballard drapes in my master bedroom, and I LOVE them. I used clip rings, though, as I’m not a fan of rod pockets.
Love the rod pockets…classic, clean lines, simple. (no ruffles)
I do not care for the clips. Ring sewn is fine, but no clips for me!
Not a fan of rodpockets but love the fabric!
I recently had panels made of hand blocked fabric from http://www.lesindiennes.com. They have a fabulous selection of authentic hand blocked fabric instead of the machine made knock-offs. Pricey but worth every penney.
les indiennes is so wonderful but not a pricepoint everyone can do but i agree the handblocked prints are amazing!
I love the drapes, don’t like the rod pockets, either. I don’t like clip-on rings, either – think it looks great to hide the clips. Can’t you stitch a band of hem tape on the back of the drapes to clip the clips to, so that they don’t show? Just another thought, without having to hand stitch each clip on.
That fabric is great! I love using drapery fabric with a large print. This print reminds me of Katie Ridder’s leaf fabric
wow, awesome blog post.Really looking forward to read more.
