A boy’s view

Friday afternoon I needed to go pick up Drew from school and then head BACK to the Big Red Barn to pick up a piece for a client.  The first thing he wanted to know was could he take pictures??  I always tell him to ask the dealers and they are usually very nice.

{Like my tortoise iphone case???  It’s a far cry from the antique tortoise boxes at this show..they were amazing..3 and 4K each with monogrammed silver tags on top!}

Unfortunately my iphone (despite the cute case)  was not holding a good charge out there (I think all of the roaming sucks it dry) so he only got a few pictures but it was fun to find them on my phone later that night. That is my mom in the reflection to his right, she has a full head of beautiful hair as you can see!  Thanks to those that have asked about her and prayed for her health.

So what do boys take photos of at Antique shows?? Well..taxidermy (puffins above) and cowboys photos

amd frontier paintings..showing more dead animals!

I am glad he likes old things and appreciates history.  I can’t believe this boy will be EIGHT years old next week.  Time flies!

  1. Love A Boys View! I have 2 myself and love seeing the world thru their eyes. This is sometimes the perfect way to actually view it! SO happy to see your moms head full of beautiful hair!!

  2. I love the picture of the bath room with the zig zag black and white shower curtain. Where did you get that shower curtain, is it fabric or a premade curtain? I love coral contrast also.
    Thanks, lindsay

  3. I love how they are at his eye level! He needs his own camera soon! Happy early birthday!

  4. Holly, Drew is so precious!!! Love his pics. I am so happy that your Momma is doing well!! xoxo

  5. I love the perspective! My five year old daughter hijacks my camera on a regular basis. I have hundreds of shots to delete every time I go to use it–but she has a great eye–an artist’s eye. Some of the photos are really lovely. I am contemplating putting them into a book. Happy early birthday to your son and may your mother’s healing continue.

  6. Its interesting to see what their perspectives are. Great post!

  7. I laughed out loud at the “more dead animals” caption! Hilarious. It is amazing how unique each person’s view of the world is. It just goes to show that we can all be at the same place at the same time and all experience something different. Cool pics Drew!

  8. I want a puffin.

  9. It’s always fun to see what my boys take photos of when they have my phone. I think it’s terrific that Drew loves history. Of course, since I’m a history teacher I’m a little biased. You do live in the birthplace of Texas, but I’m sure you already knew that because of the little history buff in your house. Eight sounds really old!

    Love your blog! Where ever did you get the tortoise shell iPhone case?!?
    Thanks for the fun pics from your antiquing!
