Simple Before & After

We are recovering from being out of town and getting little boys ready to start school but I wanted to pop in and share this simple update! This house I am working on is really a nice home but the wood builtins were dragging it down and dating it a bit.

And after, along with some extra board and batten over mantle and wood floors to match the rest of the downstairs…

PAINT CHANGES THINGS Y’ALL, if you don’t believe it you need to follow Whitney English on instagram..that girl is painting everything right now and lovin it! She even whitewashed the brick on her house. This home above (not Whitney’s home btw) has great brick around the firebox so we left it unpainted.  The color is BM Chelsea gray in full strength! We haven’t even finished this room or styled it and it already looks so much better and updated…I will be sure and share once the room is finished.

Blessing to all you mamas and families starting school this week and next.  I am now taking bookings for the fall.  Most (not all but spots are going fast) of Sept is full so email Leslie or I asap if you want to get on the fall schedule! email via clients@hollymathisinteriors.com

  6. Oh this post is killing me! I had a painter out last week to give me a quote on painting our wood built-ins. It only took me 6 years to decide to take the plunge and paint them. But, the quote was soooo high! I don’t know what to do now 🙁 Love how your client’s room looks. The board and batten over the mantel is brilliant.

  17. Love the details over the mantle. My LR looks just like that…minus the pretty built-ins, board and batten, etc, etc. I DO, however, have a HUGE two story wall above the mantle. Do you have the measurements for that space above the mantle? I’d love to do something like that in our living room.

    Looks lovely!
