Being in Asheville with the pretty leaves and lower temps has me officially in the mood for fall. My friend Kelly at Talk of the House blog has her house looking so cute I have to share…
I love the mums in the paper bags…You need to see Kelly’s home..its so cute!
more of Kelly’s fall home here.
I love pumpkins in any form, plain old orange or fancy heirloom but am I the only dork that overthinks how to mix pumpkins? I love the mix in the image below. And I love that after today all of the heirloom pumpkins around here seem to go on sale..if you stop at a stand around here it seems they say “half price” or mark down..i got some at a good price yesterday for a photo shoot. I love that because to me the heirloom pumpkins are wonderful right through Thanksgiving..in fact down here in hotville I am not even really ready for the look until November so you can be I will be scooping up some more heirloom pumpkins after spooky day!
So back to mixing pumpkins, do you know what I mean when I say “mix pumpkins” I think some of you might know exactly what I am taking about! Getting the perfect mix is like trying to get the right arm candy..just enough but too much..arm candy eludes me too..I can admit it;; I tell you who can rock some arm candy..my friend Caroline..she was doing it before it was cool…everyone now is just copying her;; Love this photo below of her checking out plush pumpkins during Round Top!
These amazing velvet pumpkins you can get locally at my fave store Leftovers! (image from Curious Details), I think they are out but will have more next year, in the meantime you can get them here. I know they have a few white ones left in the store. I love the stems!
On with my favorite fall things…love fall plates and place settings. How about a little 1980s British sitcom style..this is from Southern Living’s “Make your china pattern into an outfit” column but it immediately made me thing of Audrey fforbes-Hamilton from To the Manor Born and her vests and skirts!
Love that Woodland Spode of course!;;
Welcome fall..please come to Texas and stay more than two days!
