Ivey Inspiration

I have to admit I don’t see a lot in the shelter magazine that I just love these days.  Boy I sound like an old fogey but hey I will be forty  *cough cough* in like six weeks so hey maybe it is an age issue.

Everything just seems a little too bright and ikea and just lacks soul to me (and that is from someone who loves Ikea and color)…..BUT i must say this February Issue of Better Homes & Gardens has something I love (can we believe the February issue is out…i was just wrapping gifts) Anyway, WHERE have I been, I love Kathryn Ivey (and my friends and faves Milk & Honey Home are also in this issue..whoop to my Atlanta girls,  y’all rock, they have gotten so much press lately and they deserve it!)  So get this issue, it is actually worth buying.

These are all from pinterest or her website and show Ivey’s fresh but still collected and great look.

The fact its a DC row house (talk about soul and charm) as a backdrop doesn’t hurt. I love the exposed brick and no mantle. And the hex tile in the entry..OMG i love that with the number!

The hats remind me of what Becki and I did at Old Glory..and you know i love the rug! And the botanical chart with red in her kitchen..oh yes..you can see more of her kitchen on the Everygirl blog tour.

In the article it says that Ivey and her family moved out of the row house right after this trip..so sad..except they moved to PARIS!  Such a good layout..of course the styling was by Jessica Thomas and images by THE Helen Norman so it had to be good..Good job BHG y’all check it out in print..it’s even better!

  1. I’m with you, I love their home. I was just flipping through the pages again last night to look at their home. Lovely.

  2. Oh my gosh, how funny, I met the author of this article last night at an event & she was talking about the how the homeowners had just moved to Paris. Totally random, I never meet people like that. Now I really have to read my BHG!

  3. WOW! I have let all my home magazine subscriptions expire because they just weren’t doing it for me, but you are right. These are on point! Do you ever look at a picture and say, “that’s what I want my house to look like!” ? That’s it for me!
    Now do I subscribe again???

  4. I received my BHG a few days ago and I cannot stop looking at those pictures. Glad to hear they caught your eye too. 🙂

I hope you are planning to post more pictures of your home soon. 😉

  5. I have to agree with you Holly about a lot of the shelter magazine fare lately. Instant decor is not my thing. Thanks for giving me a heads up about BHG. It is getting better and better don’t you think?

  6. I just renewed my subscription to BHG and was so glad I did when I got their February issue. I love Kathryn Ivey’s style too. She is actually a close friend of one of my close friends! Small world, no? 🙂 Oh, and thanks for the Everygirl link–really enjoyed seeing that!
