Outdoor furniture faves

Well the children and I have moved out of the “new old house” and it has been exhausting but good. Thank you for your prayers and support. Please keep lifting up my boys, especially my oldest.  Change is hard for a first born! But for now let’s talk something fun!

Our new home has a HUGE deck that is uncovered and a large front porch so like many of you do this time of year, I have been scouring the Outdoor furniture tab on many online sites comparing and contrasting the offerings.  And they are vast aren’t they?  And often expensive.  These are some of my faves!  Even the budget alternatives can really add up when you need 6-8 chairs etc but look what I found at Overstock and World Market!

I just love the woven french bistro chairs.  I have sourced them to several wholesalers and craftsmen and the wholesale resources on these chairs will blow your mind with the choices and color offerings, and price.  They are not cheap but if you want the real deal look at TK Collections and others.  Or Serena and Lily has a great option in this look…but my budget is more overstock at the moment and these gray and red ones pictured above are Safaviah on overstock or wayfair.  I have heard people say they are finding these chairs at TJMAXX and Marshalls too…its a hot trend but a french classic. I love the bistro chairs paired with the red picnic table from World Market…it has matching benches and folds down for storage…no assembly either! holla! (yep i just said holla)..I have white adirondacks I need to sand and repaint. Nothing more outdoor classic and American than an adirondack chair..love them in mass and in all colors. And I am loving my favorite Les Indiennes print (elise) with this look though they are not outdoor pillows, I do have some that have been “loved a lot” that might work outside some or some cushions out of Ikea’s gray buffalo check.  Speaking of IKEA, this ad cracks me up.  Maybe its just my current situation but this ad makes me laugh.

Why yes IKEA, life is about impromptu gatherings where I just happen to have made scalloped table runners out of your black buffalo check and cut strips of fabric into a canopy! What is funny is I do have a scalloped white pleather tablecloth for an IKEA docksta table that Laura at LS Slips made for me..but it wasn’t impromptu lol!

Kidding aside I do love that Sundero table shown above..its so cute with the little benches and the ENTIRE SET all together of course, which adds up to over $700..the chairs have a cute adirondack craftsmen look. And the grayish tone is nice. I just want IKEA outdoor furniture to be less than $700 you know.  But that is a lot of pieces for the price.

More loves from World Market, IKEA and Stars Over Texas!

I also like the Sundero coupled with the gray outdoor wicker chair from World Market.  The little bistro set above from IKEA is VERY affordable and cute! Just a classic bistro look.  Coupled with a flag holder from Jimmy Don and you are ready for impromptu gatherings;;  Seriously, the pipe and wood outdoor table and bench top left (the KAIRI table) above is from World Market is very reasonable for what you get ..and they will have an outdoor sale soon I think if they don’t run out;;

A few more IKEA faves that would also work indoors.  These top chairs are so chic! And the white wicker below is much cuter in person.  The red bistro table needs no comment its just cute cute cute.

So there you go?  Where have you found some good outdoor pieces? Have you used any of the above and have any reviews on how they have held up?  Enjoy this gorgeous spring weather and “impromptu gatherings!”;;

Oh and IKEA and World Market did not sponsor this post;

  1. Love Love holly!!! Can’t wait to see your new family home!!!!

  2. Holly I can just imagine how emotional it was for you and your children having to move again so soon. Life can seem so unfair sometimes. Love all of this outdoor goodness….it makes me realize what a war zone my back yard patio looks like at the moment! Hang in there.

  3. I LOVE THIS POST!!!! Very timely post for me!!! We have ZERO protection from the sun …no covered porches and the wind is RIDICULOUS ….oh yea, annnnnd red muddy paws on chaise lounge cushions ….so I’m trying my hardest to not be jealous of all the RH catalog pics that portray the perfect life 🙁 I could go on and on and on and on but I can’t wait to look into these options more!!! Thanks thanks thanks!!!! xoxoxo and if you come visit this Summer….I can paaarrrommmmmmise my impromptu party supplies will not look anything like that 😀 But we would still have a ball 😀 xoxoxoxo

  4. Great post Holly! I have the IKEA bistro chairs and love them! I have them kind of all over (front porch on either side of a console, back porch by a settee), but also have them paired with West Elm’s Jardine table. It’s not quite as inexpensive but is a GREAT table. It has an extension leaf and does not wear with weather. I love all things outdoor as well! Must be a Texas coincidence

  5. Holly,
    Our outdoor dining table is from Costco and it has grayed nicely. We pair it with the World Market Kooboo chairs (they don’t seem to carry these anymore). That said, we live in Southern California and when it rains, which is seldom these days, we move the chairs to the garage. I love that they now sell an outdoor wicker chair.
    I love the french bistro chairs but even at bargain prices, have always seemed expensive.
    xo,
    Karen

  6. Love the color combos! The {Americana} theme speaks to mee….

    We bought all of our outdoor furniture at Costco…not sure if they have them again this season in the store (they did last year), but I got a square iron table, four chairs and a bench for $200 total four years ago and they’ve held up marvelously. They also carry Sunbrella cushions that hold up well, and wash fabulously. Good luck furniture hunting!

    Holly, looks like you’ve got a great deck space in your immediate future! I have been a blog follower for a loooong time, and am a divorce lawyer (please don’t hold that against me!). I know you are a reader and love books and researching, so here’s a thought for helping the kiddos: if you go on amazon and search “children and divorce” there are so many really helpful books with great ideas about getting children to the other side of the divorce process. A couple of my favs are “Putting Children First” and a book by Emery (last name) about emotions and children. Continuing to pray for you and your littles and am encouraged to see that your creative spark is going strong again! I want to do a consult, I just have to get my act together to be able to describe my design dilemma, LOL!

  9. I needed some patio furniture and was on a tight budget but didn’t want to buy throwaway pieces. I found a like new teak table on craigslist for I think $125? And I bought ikea lacko
    Chairs to go with. I’d love the woven bistro chairs but these are great for now (and preassembled! Holla! 😉 )

  10. I just heart your style so much 🙂 Great roundup!

  11. I’ve had good luck at Pier 1, World Market and Ikea, when it comes to patio furniture. I know it’s hard to wrap your mind around this but I was pretty much in the same situation you were 12 years ago, I ended up moving up into a very small townhouse with my 3 year old daughter. I had a super small patio that was one of my favorite spaces. I know that this was probably the hardest time of my life but with time behind me now I look back and remember how proud I was of myself and how much I love the little space I made for my daughter and I! Sending good thoughts your way Holly!!!

  12. My daughter has those woven chairs from wm and they are great!!

  13. We have the folding picnic table from World Market. Just a word of warning…it is awful to sit at because those folding bars are in the way – we have one of the matching benches on one side and tolix chairs on the other…neither works well…you bang your knees every time and can’t scoot them under he table unless you’re sitting in the middle.

  14. I purchased the bistro chairs from Overstock in green. I got them on sale in November and used a coupon. I LOVE them. I am using them outside on my porch. They are not sturdy enough in my opinion for my husband and 3 big boys as everyday kitchen chairs but for outside dinners every once in a while they are perfect.
