Midwest Living feature & gift certificates

This beautiful home that I blogged about  here and here was recently featured in the Christmas issue of Midwest Living..such a thrill for all of us! This was particularly special because this client has become such a good friend! And y’all that snow.  That is really special for a Texas girl that never sees snow..it’s magical! Plus the stylist on this project was the amazing BONNIE BROTEN who’s work I have adored for years..the only bad part was I didn’t get to go up for the shoot because of commitments at home ;( But regardless it turned out amazing and I am so proud of Allison and Bonnie and praise God for bringing me into this project and family! I mean just look . . .

Look at my gorgeous friend.. her soul is even more beautiful!

This kitchen..so good. But it takes work.  I arrived a few days before the open house and it was an army getting this room and others finished.  It was risky but y’all I rubbed “rub n buff” on these fixtures when they didn’t arrive quite the color we were hoping…they are NOT Visual Comfort..they are from Ballard or RH (can’t remember which) after some muscle time!  Allison did amazing choosing the reclaimed wood in this project and she designed the pantry..she is now doing design work in the Wisconsin area and forming a business called WHITE BARN DESIGN. I love the name because of her family history and their old farmhouse with the amazing white barn! I have encouraged her to do this because working with her on the project was so fun and she is so darn good..it was truly a collaboration with me in Texas and her up in WISCO land doing the hustle work!

Her gorgeous dog Barley below!

And the  hollyhock pillows!  And ikea slipcovered chair by LS slipcovers that was originally in the entry but moved here so a tree could go there for holidays!  This bed she already had and painted herself a dark color…and of course the check wall and black windows!

Coffee station in the pantry!

These panels were made in Texas (just like me) my wonderful seamstress Susie Bronikwoski made these up and we shipped them to Wisconsin!  The chairs are from IKEA and monogrammed in Houston…my southern touch to the project! The sideboard is an old piece that Allison has had for years!

In the living room we used simple Pottery Barn panels and of course my fave blinds from Select blinds.com  BAMBOO TORTOUISE BABY! The adorable chalkboard ornaments also shipped from Texas from beloved TRUE BLUE HOME!
