I recently started following this artist on Instagram, not sure how I found her but I instantly fell in love. I think the cotton caught my eye…love me some cotton whether its in art, wreaths, decor or textiles. So I started following her and fell in love with her work and story.
Deann Hebert and I share a deep love for the South, its people and culture so I knew I had to feature her here on the blog.
Isn’t she beautiful?
And look at her workspace…it’s an old mattress factory near Franklin, TN. You can see a tour here. Her studio was also featured in the most recent issue of Where Women Create magazine. In the article for WWC she said “to me the heart and soul of the South is found in its people and places, and my work reflects the warm hearts and weathered faces of its folk and the sweetness and elegance of its landscape. From my studio inside The Factory, I continue to add layer upon layer to my own uniquely Southern story.” See why I had to share…this girl, this woman is special AND talented.
This piece below is called ROOTS and that is what her work is all about…Roots in Southern culture and the meaning and importance of the places and things that bind us all together: cotton fields, old churchs, landscape and on and on . . .
I am trying to find a spot for a piece of her work in my house but until then this one is going to my assistant Leslie tomorrow (Merry Christmas best asst on the planet!)
This is one of my favorites….called “Southern Appeal”
These large originals are wonderful (40 x 40 I think) and one was even in an HGTV Showhouse….but she offers giclees in other sizes and prints as well…This is her shop..this would be such a good Christmas gift (hint hint)…
And I love her her branding and logo, I am always drawn to that as well, it is on trend but still her..she is so authentic and true to herself, really inspiring to me as a business person that you can stick to your guns on style and direction and still do well. God blesses authenticity. So glad I found you on Instagram Deann, I wish you all the best with you art and journey! Learn more about her art, studio, home and story here on her website.

I’ve recently found here work on Instagram and as a girl from the south myself, I totally get it! ~Sonya
