Missoni at Target

Well this morning Henry and I were headed to an appt and i stopped to get him a book or toy that makes sounds and holds attention (Can’t believe i just admited that)..it was to be a quick trip in and out and on our way…EXCEPT i did not realize this morning at 8 am the new Missonio collection at Target was put on shelves.

The real housewives were out in full force, work out wear and tennis skirts..grabbing that missoni as fast as they could…baskets FULL with it…it was very funny.  Apparently this collection is much more popular than my beloved John Derian or Liberty of London.

The little girl stuff looked very cute!

 And the rain boots.

I did get this infinity scarf..i think i will love it…they also had cute socks, makeup brushes and bags and even some cute bobbie like hair pins..its sprinkled all over the store…its like it snowed Missoni in target land!

The big handbag was sold out but if you like it, look in luggage, they  had a similar carry on bag (ok i bought it, i did) and the cutest laptop case

  1. Oh Holly,
I love it!!! May need to head there this evening.
I am going to check it out online also real quick.
    Thank you!

  2. a little bit goes a long way, the scarf and hats are really cute as well as the tote bags.

  3. I was going to go check it out today, but I never made it. I love the look of Missoni, but I don’t think I would be buying it up like the real housewives. I think a few accessories would be great!!

  4. i went to target to pick up things for the boys’ school project and it was CRAZY…like you said the ladies were out in force today. when i was there at 11am all the missoni in the store was GONE. lady after lady kept coming in and asking where the stuff was, some of them said they’d already been to three other Targets and all of them were sold out. Plus their website crashed and its still down. CRAZY!

  5. I saw it today as well and I thought the kid’s stuff was cute but I wasn’t loving the adult section as much. Maybe it will grow on me after I see it a few times. Maybe I’m just not cool enough to like it. 😉

  6. It was crazy! I bought a candle and the carry-on bag but none of the clothes. All the super ebayers raided the stores.

  7. their website crashed today, it was so hard to look at everything. i’m not a huge fan of it, but love the luggage!

  8. I’m thinking I don’t love it. No offense. I’m not a trendsetter though…. I’ll learn to like it once the fad has worn off. I still have yet to tuck my jeans in my riding boots and leave the house. I find that other women look trendy and cute while I look dorky dressed in the same thing.

  9. cute stuff! love the fancy rain boots!

  10. I guess this explains why I never seem to see any of this stuff on the shelves or racks at Target. It’s shopped out the first morning. Crazy.

I do love those boots. I’m going to go check out the bike you mentioned. I’m so curious and I am always in the market for a bike. (Just never buy it. Why is that?)

  11. Too Funny…I made the same mistake… walking into Target at 8:10… racks empty… all these tennis skirted women around… do you live in Illinois? Or, are all the housewives like that???

  12. Oh, and I was going for an ink cartridge… had no idea all this was happening.

  13. I am so with you on Liberty of London!!! That was by far my favorite and I so wish they would do it all over again. I was there at 8 a.m. and everyone was buying it up. My husband couldn’t believe how happy and excited I was to be leaving for Target first thing in the morning. I’m ticked I totally forgot to look back in luggage! I ended up with only a few pieces (after trying almost all of it) and it did cross my mind to stock up and sell on ebay, like it is now at super inflated prices. Just not my style. Grateful for what I was able to get. Maybe they’ll do a repeat???

  14. OH HOW FUNNY!!!!!! I went to Target to pick up an RX for my daughter and people were circling the store looking at all this Missoni stuff. It was sooo strange. You could totally tell they had purposely come to see the Missoni line. I even overheard two women saying that this Target didnt get the towels in yet! I thought it was really funny and strange!

  15. Well, here in Houston, I checked out 2 Targets starting at 9AM. Both stores had been stripped of merchandise by 8:30 according to the sales clerks. People were buying hundreds of dollars worth, carts piled high. No doubt it was destined for Ebay and that made me so furious. I snagged a few things for my 20something daughter and later ordered some martini (?) glasses online. Have to say Target screwed up on this one, the demand was so high. I hope they have more merchandise to restock with.

  16. Oh, please!! Really?!! Once you start seeing everyone around town with this stuff, it will be no big deal. It’s funny how retailers are able to get the masses in a “craze” over something when it first comes out, only for it to be practically given away a year later.

  17. I have to agree with Kat. Oh please!! Why frantically rush to buy something that everyone else is going to have?? What is so unique about that?? I think the line has some cute items but soon it will be everywhere. People will overpay for it on ebay, enriching the greedy ones who grabbed it all only to resell it and profit from a craze, then by next year no one will care. I would rather be individual than follow the masses.

  18. I saw the vultures, I mean housewives, out in force yesterday morning as well. I’m sorry…it’s some of the ugliest stuff I think I’ve ever seen. No ones behind needs to be covered in that much brown and orange chevron. They’re all going to look like Deranged Charlie Brown’s in about two weeks.

Now that Calypso St. Barth sale…:D I was all over that one like white on rice.

  19. I must confess I purchased a cardigan … I would love a makeup bag, luggage area you say?

  20. Thanks for keeping me informed 🙂 but I liked the John Derian and Liberty of London quite a bit better.

  21. I was in Target and I was looking at the suitcases thinking they were cute, without really knowing the brand or whatever. They seemed like a good value in the store for just $169 considering how well made it seemed like they looked. I do think the pattern is cute. Have to admit that I picked up a few things to eBay. 🙂 I’m selling the matching suitcase if you’re interested in bidding. 🙂 NO RESERVE PRICE AND FREE SHIPPING! https://www.ebay.com/itm/290609910307?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649#ht_644wt_1398

  22. I went to check it out and all of it was gone!

  23. Mary Frances says

I picked up the beautiful platter and a serving bowl, but missed out on the votives and the vases…some of us were doing some early Christmas shopping…the clothing is not for everyone, I personally love the home items. Missoni is not trendy…been around a for decades(since the fifties)…I used to work at the old Joske’s in Town & Country Mall in the mid eighties and Neiman Marcus used to have the most breathtaking tapestries by Missoni on the second floor by ladies shoes…it’s no different than middle income folks wanting mid priced Ralph Lauren sheets or Calvin Klein jeans…we can’t afford their couture items…the Ralph Lauren store in New York City is to DIE for, but we can buy his sheets at Katy Mills Mall, can’t we? It’s ok not to be “into” a certain style…and that doesn’t make us frumpy or outdated…Dash & Albert rugs are beautiful, but not everyone has to have them…and some people don’t know the company is named after Queen Victoria’s husband and dog…just like the “Keep Calm and Carry On” items were from a slogan used during WW II to keep reassuring the citizens of Great Britain during the Nazi air raids…it WASN’T something being ripped off from an artist on Etsy…Etsy offers reproduction art as well as original and handmade items!

  24. I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of chevrons and zigzags. But maybe if I look at it a while, I’ll start to want it. 🙂

  25. Was there early and bought the two things I came for…the flats and the infinity scarfs. My daughter was alarmed at the full grown women running around hypervenilating with their carts overflowing. Full crazyness!
